The Gift of a Lifetime

Supporting Thousands with a single gift
Have you considered including a gift to your favourite charity in your will? With your legacy, Youth and women in some of the world's deprived areas will be able to improve their lives and those of several generations to come as they will be able to establish sustainable businesses, make profits by protecting their environment and using cleaner solutions of energy to provide for their families.
The seed money originally given will be 'planted' multiple times to ensure that another family will begin to benefit from your generosity, so the cycle is never ending......

Help future generations work their way out of poverty

The planning of a Will takes time and great care. While considering the best ways in which to provide for the requirements of family and friends, many people also choose to reflect on the causes that are of significance in their lives.

For many charities, legacies are a significant part of their income. Inheritance tax doesnt apply in the case of legacies to charities-similar advantages apply to leaving assets to a charity by setting up a trust. The money given is therefore maximised, as is the potential of the gift. You can also 'leave a legacy' on someone else's behalf if you have been the benefeciary of a Will in the last two years. Download the information below.

A measurable impact
In Africa, many peopple want out of poverty but dont know how because either they dont have skills due to lack of education or capital to initiate small cottage businesses that grow to become SME(small medium enterprises). Environclean Community Group aim is to maximise the potential of every gift we receive and put it in programs that enable slum communities emanicipate themeselves from all forms of 'slavery'. A gift in your will can help us plan our work far into the future, helping us to reach our goal of significantly reducing the scale and depth of poverty amongst communities living in slums in Kenya.
An average slum familty include 7 dependants, therefore your donation could help thousands of people outt of poverty trap.
  • £1000 will provide all the resources needed to revitalise a whole community of 20,000 people to improve its environment and ensure continuity.
  • £5,000 could help educate to 220 youth and women a year support over 1,000 dependents. this will provide training and ongoing mentoring support to enable them set up sustainable green businesses.
  • £50,000 would help us create a sustainble village with a school, proper housing, eco-frienly houses and save a generation from poiverty and deprivity. overtime, this gift could bring the entire town in Kenya out of poverty trap
A donation to Environclean community may be something you would like to think about; if so please contact Carol Kanja to discuss the impact that your legacy could make.

How does it work?

A charitable legacy could be a gift of money or of any other assets that you leave behind.  While there are a number of options to consider, there are two main types of charitable legacies; pecuniary and residuary.  Pecuniary legacies specify a sum of money or item of value to be donated, whilst a residuary legacy allows you to donate a percentage of the net value of your estate or the remaining sum after you have provided for family and friends.

What do you need to do?

To leave a legacy to a charity, you simply need to include details of the donation in your will.  This can be done by writing a will, by making an amendment or ‘codicil’ to an existing will or by setting up a Trust.  Your solicitor or professional adviser will be able to tell you more. If you do not have a solicitor, The Law Society has an impartial referral service: see www.lawsociety.org.uk or call 0870 606 6575.
