Trustees

Environclean is governed by a board of trustees who give strategic direction, leadership and monitor all aspects of performance. The sub‐committee help in delegation. There are more than 50 members affiliated to Environclean.

Chair of Trustees: Ricardo Ferreira has been a director of his own Co. in UK for over 8 yrs and still going. He has over 15 year’s extensive experience in areas of Sales & Marketing. He is also an active social entrepreneur. He is chair of Environclean ensuring the organisation achieves its goal.

Secretary: Ken Washington is also a businessman. Presently, he is taking training in accountancy. He mainly is on the ground in most of the projects we undertake. He is the Organising Secretary. He makes the constitution work.

Treasurer: Caroline Kariuki (BSc) (MSc) is one of the founders of Environclean Community Group and is an Environmental Scientist her expertise mainly being in waste management, ecology and renewable energy technologies which are broad fields. She has over 9 years experience in environmental–related issues in Europe, Africa and 2 in social issues. She is the treasurer and also doubles as project manager for Environclean. She is the main contact for the group. She has attended a 5‐day course in May 2008 organised by an enterprise agency (NWES) based in UK. The course was to enable production of a comprehensive professional business plan. She has undertaken additional courses in areas of Marketing. Other training plans are in the pipeline with regards to running the organisation.

Joan Kariuki (B. Comm) was the first volunteer to work with Environclean Community Group in Kenya. She works also as a part-time project evaluator for Environclean. Her background is in Management
